Everyone wants a sequel for Dr. Horrible, well get ready fans of evil, Joss Whedon and the family who made the first sing-along blog are working on the follow-up.
In an interview with Wired, Whedon talked about working on the next installment of Dr. Horrible and the other musically inclined supervillains. While all the fans have been begging for a sequel, even the stars of the show are ready to start working. According to Whedon, “Neil has been like, ‘How long?’ We’re all just sort of waiting, but the waiting will stop.”
Basically the only think preventing the follow-up from being made is the fact that none of their schedules have really lined up at the right time. But that looks like it’s about to change, Whedon said “All of us are looking at this summer as the time when we can go, ‘Hey, you know what? We’ve got a little free time, let’s get unstuck.’ Neil has been like, ‘How long?’ We’re all sort of just waiting, but the waiting will stop.”
The group has been hard at work on new work. “We do have a number of songs written,” he said. “We have a whole outline.” Other than that he didn’t really say much about what to expect in the next iteration of the Evil League of Evil.
The original Dr. Horrible was created during the writer’s strike in 2007-2008, by Joss, his brothers Jed and Zack, and Jed’s wife, Maurissa Tancharoen. Even though the project had a small budget and was originally only released on the internet in three parts. It became so popular it quickly went to DVD and started winning awards. It even had a comic book spin-off.
