DUNCAN JONES Will Take Bond Creator IAN FLEMING Directly To The Big Screen

Duncan Jones previously directed Moon and Source Code, and now he will take on the life of James Bond creator Ian Fleming

In a press release yesterday it was announced that the director will be working on biopic of the well known author who traveled the world and actually worked on real life top-secret missions. Jones plans to use the real world adventures of Fleming and his life in writing to show how he “gave birth to Britain’s greatest superspy.”

Now the film will start the task of casting the parts for the story based on Andrew Lycett’s authoritative biography Ian Fleming, The Man Behind James Bond.  With the full support of The Ian Fleming Estate, production is expected to start later this year.

Jones said about the man, “Fleming lived through one of the most perilous periods in world history, in a position that allowed him a unique vantage point of all the players, all the stakes. He witnesses true heroism first-hand. And he saw the evil men could do. Then, when the war ended, he went off to write fiction. The essential question for me is; where did Ian Fleming end and Bond begin?”
