The Brothers Lionheart will return to the big screen now that Tomas Alfredson and John Ajvide Lindqvist have acquired the rights.
Screen Daily reports, the Astrid Lindgren book has never had a big budget project before and this particular purchase is one of the largest in Swedish film history. Peter Gustafsson will be producing the project and cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema is also set to work on this project.
Lindqvist will be adapting the story about two brothers who die, but are reunited in Nangiyala. Although it seems like a great place at first, it is under threat from a tyrant who plans to claim the underworld as his own. The brothers fight together against evil and the beat he has that all people fear.
