Jonah Hill is establishing himself as a dramatic actor after getting his start in comedy. His latest role may be alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street.
According to Variety, the new project which Scorsese will direct and produce is based on the memoirs of Jordan Belfort. Belfort was a Wall Street hotshot with a “hard-partying lifestyle.” Hill would play the role of his best friend, a normal guy on Wall Street who becomes addicted to cocaine after meeting Belfort.
Terence Winter wrote the screenplay for the drama. Although Hill is known for his roles in comedies, like his most recent 21 Jump Street, he surprised people with his work in Moneyball for which he received an Oscar nom. His next roles will be in True Story, another drama, with James Franco, and then later in The Watch.
