Here are some of the first pictures from Taken 2, along with the news about Liam Neeson’s newest project A Walk Among the Tombstones.
Deadline reports that the actor is play Matt Scudder in the adaptation of the book series by Lawrence Block. Scott Frank will be directing the film with his own script. Exclusive Media has set up a three-year deal with Cross Creek Pictures to have two movies released each year. If all goes according to plan.
Neeson is also finished with Taken 2 and we get our first look at what parts of it will look like thanks to Entertainment Weekly. In the sequel to the surprise hit, he will return to play Bryan Mills. When he goes on vacation with his wife and daughter in Istanbul he is taken himself by the father of one of the human traffickers he killed in the first film. In this movie part of the story is centered on him being saved by his daughter, but don’t worry, there’s still a lot of action, gunplay, explosions, and strategic planning.
In his interview with EW, Neeson also said that there is more action, an interesting tweak to the plot, and “it’s a very clever sequel with the usual thrills and spills, but the ante is upped quite a bit in this one.”
Neeson also said that they are working on some reshoots, but everything is still in order for the scheduled October Fifth release.
In A Walk Among the Tombstones, Neeson plays an ex-NYPD cop/unlicensed private detective. Recovering from a long history of alcoholism, he decides to take on the job of finding the wife of drug dealer. Soon he finds out that the kidnappers he’s looking for are professional criminals and have murdered victims in the past. The part of Scudder was once played by Jeff Bridges in 8 Million Ways To Die which Hal Ashby directed.
