Warner Bros. is looking to bring another comic book to the big screen, but this one you probably didn’t expect. It’s Rascal Raccoon’s Raging Revenge.
THR reports that the studio has picked up the Oni Press title from Brendan Hay and Justin Wagner with director Todd Strauss-Schulson working from a script by Matt Fogel. Eric Gitter will be producing for Oni Press’ Closed on Mondays.
The story takes place in a place called Toonie Terrace, with characters called Toonies and Meanies, Rascal Raccoon has killed his nemesis Jumpin’ Jackalope and decides that the animator of their world is next on his hit list.
Similar to WB’s Looney Tunes characters, the project will be different in that it will be a live-action/CGI hybrid. Strauss-Schulson previously directed Harold & Kumar Christmas and worked earlier on cable TV and some comedy shorts. Writer Fogel last wrote Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son. He’s also done work on Bob: The Musical for Disney.
