While Julian Assange is seeking asylum in Ecuador, his story is being turned into a movie with The Man Who Sold The World.
Based on Daniel Domsheit-Berg‘s novels Inside WikiLeaks, and WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange’s War on Secrecy, DreamWorks had hired Josh Singer to adapt the story and create a screenplay.
The film will tell Assange’s story and the time of the creation of WikiLeaks, and how he was turned into hated man and wanted by the governments of multiple countries. While the site is still releasing classified documents from governments and corporations, Assange is currently in an extradition battle in the U.K. they intend to send him to Sweden where he could be prosecuted for sexual assault.
Singer is a writer and supervising producer on Fringe, and has previously worked on shows like Lie to Me, Law & Order:SVU and The West Wing.
