Christopher Nolan with his Dark Knight trilogy, and now he’s officially finished with Batman. He recently stated that he won’t be involved with a Justice League movie. There was obvious rumor that he would continue with the character that he’s been with for a few years now, but now that dream has died with the man himself saying that he’ll be doing other projects.
Nolan’s exact quote when being asked about his involvement in the project was:
“No, none at all, we’re finished with all we’re doing with Batman. This is the end of our take on this character.”
The rumors had some thought behind them, after finishing The Dark Knight Rises, he’s attached as producer on Man of Steel, the superman reboot coming next summer. In addition to saying no to Justice League, he also said that he has no interest in getting involved with any future Batman projects.
“Batman will outlive us all, and our interpretation was
ours. Obviously, we consider it definitive and kind of finished. The
great thing about Batman is he lives on for future generations to
reinterpret, and obviously, Warners will have to decide in the future
what they’re going to do with him,” Nolan said. “We’ve had our say on
the character. …
Now we just have to hear who will take on the DC Comics’ answer to Marvel’s Avengers. Who will bring Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Green Arrow, Martain Man Hunter, and more to the big screen?
