This is a video game adaptation that could be really good. Assassin’s Creed has a giant story behind it that has run through over four games. And now Michael Fassbender is set to star in the film as well as produce the project for game maker Ubisoft who will oversee everything that goes on in the process of turning their successful game franchise into a potential movie franchise.
Fassbender will play Desmond Miles, a descendant of several lines of assassins who is put into a sort of memory tracing machine that allows him to relive his ancestors lives. If the film is like the games, the story will jump back and forth between centuries old Italy and present day where Miles is still fighting with the Knights Templar.
Although the Sony project still has no director, the addition of Fassbender, who has had recent success with Haywire, Shame and Prometheus, will surely have some directors thinking about jumping on board.
