On the Atari Age forum, uber programmer, Sprybug, has managed to create a demo version of Super Mario Bros. done in the Atari 2600-style of my youth.
Now, I’m not talking about making the graphics look old-Skool (which any decent computer graphics artist could do), I’m talking about using the original programming specs of Atari games and creating it as if it were being released in 1982.
That’s some serious Atari love right there.
Which means that I can now live out a fantasy I’ve longed for ever since I had to put away my joystick for a flat controller, finally getting to play Mario in the all the beauty that I first learned to get addicted to.
It’s truly a wonderful day.
