Who’s that “Bamf”-ing around?

Looks like Nighcrawler in a brand new X-Title, Amazing X-Men #1!

The Las Vegas casino compound is compromised by Firefly in G.I. Joe Cobra Files #8 before as the series winds down, and Jimmy Palmiotti returns to Daredevil and Misty Knight in Daredevil: Dark Nights #6.

Comixology Submit answers the age-old WWDD? question in What Would Dracula Do #1?

I’m not gonna complain (erhm…again) about the number of X-Titles on the stand or come up with some fake number like “Including Wolverine and The X-Men that makes 3, 000,000 titles now”.

No sir, I won’t do it. Especially because the world rejoices this week with the return of Nightcrawler, who is in fact dead in the Marvel NOW! 616.

I won’t complain because a combination of Jason Aaron and Ed McGuinness makes my brain go crazy about the potential awesomeness. As you can tell, this review is going places!

Nightcrawler leaves Heaven and is headed for the Jean Grey School, just as Firestar is having a rough first day getting acclimated as guest teacher!

I’m confused by a couple of things, like why are Logan and Storm flirting it up, which Angel is which and why Warbird and Northstar are in the best supporting actor positions but I am resolutely not complaining!

Looks like I’ll need to be picking up this one while McGuinness is on art because his Classic X-Men look really heats up the place…like brimstone!

Comic book announcements are taking a strange turn these days. Mike Costa took to Twitter to clarify that while Issue #9 was indeed the last issue of this series, he will be involved in writing Joe books in the future.

We’re sad to see this one go, with December’s issue being solicited as the final issue and the point at which Costa had been targeting since the re-launch.

Maybe this means he will be taking his signature approach to the main G.I. Joe title after Fred Van Lente leaves, or perhaps more likely a new season of G.I. Joe: Cobra will be launched.

Speculation aside, we are looking forward to this arm of the Joeverse expanding beyond this penultimate issue and Costa’s talents in The Pit or on Cobra Island (RIP).

This issue has action packed pages with Firefly vs. Flint, a major death and Tomax taking on a familiar characteristic of his dead brother Zamot.

This is a must read in trade, Joe fans! Also recommended if you enjoy 007 flicks, 24, and Jason Bourne.

DAREDEVIL DARK NIGHTS #6

Its always great to see a creator return to a character and to a company he hasn’t been working for in a while to see what they can do.

Riding on the crest of the Mark Waid run,  this David Lapham conceived limited series has had some great writers, the latest is Jimmy Palmiotti.

Those hearing the news today about a Daredevil live-action Netflix show might want to grab this issue that gets to the heart of Matt Murdock, teaming him up with Misty Knight (The Fearless Defenders).

Rising star Thony Silas provides yet another book with a classic Marvel look as DD and Misty take on the mob in the Caribbean!

This is a fun issue, contiguous with Waid’s run, but also a very Marvel story in the classic sense!

If there were a second book, a “Detective Comics” to “A Man Without Fear” ongoing, with Palmiotti at the helm, I wouldn’t mind in the least!

Like a mortal’s life, this one is short and sweet and very well done. Great art and updated Dracula story!

It is present day Dracula interferes with a rape and is shunned by his Universal Horror friends at game night.

The world has changed, and Dracula must adapt. This is a great way to work with classic characters, bring them into a modern setting and see exactly What Would Dracula Do?

Would he go on a talk show?
