The Man Who Set Up His Own Toll Road, Without Permission

October 15, 2014 by Elizabeth Weitz

If you are tired of your city not fixing the roads due to budget issues (or, more likely, because those in charge are too busy giving themselves big fat raises) take heart, for anarchy comes in all shapes and sizes…some even incredibly polite.

Like this man near Bath, England who built a toll road (without asking anyone if it were okay) so that people wouldn’t have to drive an extra 14 miles around a detour (which was lasting months).

Where did he come up with the idea?

At a pub…naturally.

And who said drinking never led to any great decisions?

Mini Doc after the break.
