SEXCASTLE CREATOR RETURNS WITH ALL-NEW HOBO HOOTENANNY SERIES ROCK CANDY MOUNTAIN
Eisner-nominated cartoonist Kyle Starks (SEXCASTLE, Rick and Morty) will launch an all-new hobo-tastic action-comedy series, ROCK CANDY MOUNTAIN, this April.
ROCK CANDY MOUNTAIN is full of high action, epic stakes, magic, friendships, trains, punching, kicking, joking, a ton of hobo nonsense, and the Literal Devil. Yeah. The Literal Devil.
“I really wanted to tell an epic journey with major stakes mixed with sort of a mystery and tons of fighting,” said Starks in an interview with Image+. “I also wanted to do some magical realism. And it’s hobos. Hobos fighting. I mean, what’s more magical than riding around the country, living off the grid?”
The world’s toughest hobo is searching through post-World War II America for the mythological Rock Candy Mountain, and he’s going to have to fight his way to get there. Lots of hobo fights. So many hobo fights.
ROCK CANDY MOUNTAIN #1 (Diamond code: FEB170575) hits comic book stores Wednesday, April 5th. The final order cutoff deadline for retailers is Monday, March 13th.

THE SOUTHERN VAMPIRES IN SKYBOUND’S REDNECK WILL PUT TRUE BLOOD TO SHAME
Donny Cates (GOD COUNTRY) teams up with artist Lisandro Estherren and colorist Dee Cunniffe for an all-new Southern vampire series—REDNECK—set to launch this April from Image Comics/Skybound Entertainment.
The Bowmans are vampires who have quietly run the local barbecue joint in their small town for years, living off cow’s blood. Their peaceful coexistence ends as generations of hate, fear, and bad blood bubble to the surface—making it impossible to separate man from monster!
“Redneck is truly a dream come true for me as a storyteller, and to be able to tell this story on a stage as nice as Skybound and Image have given us? I don’t think it gets better than that,” said Cates. “Redneck is deeply personal for me, and I think will be for a lot of people out there as well. It’s a story about a family’s quest to turn themselves into more than the monsters they’ve always been. To find a little peace in a world that hates them. It ain’t gonna be easy, and it’s sure as hell gonna be bloody. But it might just be the best time you’ve ever had reading a book about vampires!”
REDNECK serves up the tale—of a different kind—of family just trying to get by, deep in the heart of Texas.
REDNECK #1 (Diamond Code FEB170570) hits stores on Wednesday, April 19th. The final order cutoff deadline for comics retailers is Monday, March 27th.
CELEBRATED HORROR WRITER BUNN & ARTIST LUCKERT LAUNCH NIGHTMARISH NEW SERIES REGRESSION
“Bunn, Luckert and Enger have created a real page-turner, frightening, engrossing and clever. A must-read for horror fans.” —Steve Niles, 30 Days of Night
Bram Stoker and Eisner Award-nominated writer Cullen Bunn (Harrow County, The Sixth Gun, The Empty Man) returns with debut artist Danny Luckert (Haunted) and colorist/letterer Marie Enger (Pistolwhip, 2 Sisters) for a chilling new series in REGRESSION. The new series is set to launch this May.
REGRESSION follows Adrian, a man tormented by ghastly waking nightmares. Pushed to a point of desperation, Adrian reluctantly turns to past life regression hypnotherapy as a means of understanding and treating the unwanted visions. When his consciousness is cast back through time, Adrian witnesses a scene of horrific debauchery and diabolism before waking up. But Adrian’s more unsettled than before and something dark and unnatural has followed him back… Now Adrian finds himself descending into a world of occult conspiracy, mystery, reincarnation, and insanity—from which there is no escape.
“I think most readers know how much of a horror fiend I am,” said Bunn. “What many people don’t know is that my father was a professional hypnotist for many years. While it wasn’t part of his on-stage act, he often conducted past life regressions. During these sessions I saw people describing other time periods with pinpoint accuracy and even saw someone speaking a language they did not know. I also witnessed some really extremely creepy regressions that planted the seeds for this story of supernatural horror conspiracy.”
Perfect for fans of Bunn’s critically acclaimed HARROW COUNTY and OUTCAST BY KIRKMAN & AZACETA, REGRESSION is a frightening exploration of the wickedest corners of the untapped psyche.
REGRESSION #1 hits stores on Wednesday, May 10th.

I KILL GIANTS’ JOE KELLY RETURNS WITH NEW ALL-AGES ADVENTURE IN KID SAVAGE
Man of Action Entertainment’s beloved I KILL GIANTS co-creator and writer Joe Kelly teams up with lauded British cartoonist Ilya for an all-new all-ages series packed with thrills in KID SAVAGE, VOL. 1 set to hit stores from Image Comics this April. An excerpt from the forthcoming KID SAVAGE will be a featured Free Comic Book Day title from Image Comics this year.
When the pioneering “First Family in Space” takes a catastrophic wrong turn on their maiden voyage, they crash on a dangerous alien planet. Their 21st century know-how is useless against the harsh environment, and survival seems unlikely, until they meet a strange ally…a mysterious orphan boy who’s short on temper but big on survival skills.
“When I was a kid, I loved taking toys from different corners of the toybox and putting them in stories together. Astronauts with dinosaurs. Superheroes and talking cars. Didn’t matter so long as the world in my head was vast and the characters were cool,” said Kelly. “Kid Savage continues that theme of play for me. I wanted to write an all-ages book featuring genre-mashing adventure and an honest, modern family dynamic. Thanks to the deft lines of ILYA and clever hues of Gary Caldwell, Kid Savage is a thrill ride of color and shape, and at the same time there’s a humanity to the characters, even the non-human ones, that I hope new readers and seasoned fans can relate to. It ain’t easy being the first family in space, but it’s a ton of fun if you’re willing to go along for the ride.”
KID SAVAGE, VOL. 1 (ISBN: 978-1-63215-938-0, Diamond Code FEB170694) will hit comics retailers on Wednesday, April 12th and bookstores on Tuesday, May 2nd. The final order cutoff deadline for comics retailers is Monday, March 13th.
