Giving the Gift of Entertainment to Your Family

Holidays are just around the corner, which means that the most prepared of you are thinking about what to buy as gifts. It can be difficult to find a product or other tangible good that really hits the spot for the people you care about, and some of us end up settling for cash or gift cards (even though these can be nice gifts too!). If you want to give a gift that keeps on giving, perhaps it’s time to give the gift of entertainment, something everyone on your gift list will enjoy. Here are some of the best options available to you.

Satellite TV

If you have a friend or family member who loves traditional TV at home, without the new frills of internet programming, satellite TV is a thoughtful way to give them what they want. Satellite TV has many programming options, some of which will appeal to sports fans, movie lovers, etc. You can even get Dish Latino if you have family who lives in the United States but for whom English is not the primary language. Satellite TV might not have been on your gift short list, but it really is perfect for many different customers, and an excellent gift from you to them.

Season Passes

Entertainment doesn’t have to be had in the home. If your giftee loves a night out on the town, a season pass to a local venue, stage theater, or movie house may be something they enjoy over and over. Think about the kind of live entertainment they enjoy, and look at areas that are local to them which have the best offerings. Oftentimes, the price of a season pass is just a little more than the cost of two or three one-time tickets, but it’s a thing many people won’t buy for themselves. Given as a gift this holiday, it’s sure to be appreciated.

Online Programming

There are more new original programming sources online than ever before, and most people don’t have access to all of them. Some people think this is an expense they should avoid, so they miss out on some of the best shows and movies that exist right now. By giving a free month, quarter, or entire year, you can give your loved one something that they wouldn’t get for themselves, but which they would probably enjoy immensely. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and a smattering of other great options all come to mind. There are even genre-specific subscriptions, or those that only have classic movies, for the specialized taste on your gift list.

There are many ways to be entertained in 2017, but most of us don’t have access to them all. If there are people on your list who are under-entertained, giving the gift of an entertainment subscription or service will be something they really love. What’s more, it’s renewable annually, so if you are having trouble thinking up a gift idea in 2018, you can always just renew the one you give this year! Choose carefully and happy gifting!
