Titan Comics To Publish Howling New Creator-Owned Series Of The Supernatural – Brother Nash!
Titan Comics is thrilled to announce Brother Nash – a three-part supernatural comic series from creator, writer/artist Bridgit Connell.
If American Gods met Teen Wolf and Hellboy on the midnight road to Sacramento… they may well make something a little like Brother Nash, which tells the story of Nash, a haunted trucker who can see ghosts, talks with spirits, senses evil and – oh yes! – is a werewolf.
When the moon is on the rise and violence threatens his friends, he struggles to keep the beast in check, even as he strives to meet his obligations to those he loves.
And when Nash takes on a mysterious hitchhiker heading for Tucson, he and his friends are dragged headfirst into their most dangerous adventure yet.
So grab your shotguns, prime your shortwave radio, warm up the cab, flex those lupine claws, and join the crew for what may be the strangest and deadliest cross-country haul of all time!
According to writer/artist Bridgit Connell, “Brother Nash is about a mysterious trucker out West who gets lost in a supernatural adventure with his two friends, a bumbling sweetheart and fellow trucker named Ray, and a strong-willed ranch owner named Billie. On the road they encounter tricksters, motorcycle gangs, zombies, creepy ghost kids, high-speed chases, giant monsters, redneck shaman, witches… and find out that the lore behind astronomy is alive and roaming the earth.”
Debuting in comic book stores and on digital devices in a staggering, triple-sized 72-page issue, Brother Nash #1 also features a stunning A cover by Sanford Greene (Power Man & Iron Fist, Royals, Uncanny Avengers), and an astounding B cover from Bridgit and colorist Luis Guerrero (Rivers of London, Mycroft Holmes).
Completely remastered from Bridgit’s self-published editions, and newly relettered throughout, this gripping, heartfelt tale of supernatural Americana
Fans and retailers can order the first issue of Brother Nash through the April edition of Diamond’s Previews catalogue, with an on sale date of 6 June.
Visit Bridgit in person at HeroesCon Charlotte from June 15-17 to celebrate the launch of the comic, and stay tuned for more information about this title!

The future of the world itself at stake. Counter Measures activated. The Seventh Doctor and Ace are slap bang in the middle of it all! This is OPERATION VOLCANO!
Ben Aaronovitch and Andrew Cartmel return to the TARDIS, on the 30th anniversary of fan-favorite episode “Remembrance of the Daleks” with The Seventh Doctor comics, and are joined by illustrator Christopher Jones (The Third Doctor) and colorist Marco Lesko (Robotech, The Ninth Doctor) to bring astonishing twists and turns to the lives of the Seventh Doctor, and his companions, with Titan’s new comic series.
The debut issue comes with four variant covers to collect: three art covers by artists Alice X. Zhang, Simon Myers, and Christopher Jones, and a photo cover by Will Brooks. The Seventh Doctor will also materialize with a back-up strip written by Twelfth Doctor scribe Richard Dinnick, with art by Jessica Martin (Actor: Doctor Who: The Greatest Show In The Galaxy, Voice actor: Doctor Who: Voyage of the Damned).
Retailers can order issue #1 of The Seventh Doctor from the April edition of Diamond PREVIEWS. This all-new storyline in the world of a classic will delight longtime fans and freshly converted Whovians alike.
V.E. Schwab Leaps Into Comic Books With the SHADES OF MAGIC Prequel Series!
From critically-acclaimed author V. E. Schwab, comes a new comic book series (published by Titan Comics) arriving in October 2018, set in the universe of her New York Times bestselling Shades of Magic novel series which is published by Tor (US) and Titan Books (UK).
Schwab’s series, which became a worldwide phenomenon, features parallel versions of London – Grey London, a drab realm devoid of magic ruled by mad King George; Red London, where life and magic is revered under the strong Maresh Dynasty; White London, a harsh world where people fight magic, and magic fights back, draining the city to its core; and finally, the menacing Black London – but no-one dares to speak its name.
Set before Kell and Lila’s extraordinary adventure in the first novel, A Darker Shade of Magic, Titan Comics’ brand-new prequel comic series, featuring art by Andrea Olimpieri (Dishonored), delves into the thrilling backstory of Kell’s adoptive father, Maxim Maresh, before he became the king of Red London.
In Titan Comics’ new series, entitled Shades of Magic: The Steel Prince, a young prince Maxim Maresh, is sent to a violent and unmanageable port city far away to cut his military teeth on strict orders from his father, King Nokil Maresh. There, he encounters an unruly band of soldiers, a lawless landscape, and a newly returned pirate queen…
“I grew up wanting to tell stories, but never sure what form they would take. From short fiction to drawings, scripts to animation, I wanted to tell stories people could SEE, inside their heads or on a screen. Or, as it turns out, on a page. I’ve been an avid reader of comics for more than a decade,” said creator V.E. Schwab, “I’m over the moon to say I’m officially becoming a writer of them, too. I am so grateful to the team at Titan Comics for helping me bring this dream to life–and tell a new story from the Shades of Magic world. I can’t wait for readers to see Andrea Olimpieri’s stunning illustrations, and meet Maxim Maresh before he was king. This is the story of the Steel Prince, the Blood Coast, and the Pirate Queen. “
“Being able to introduce a new story from V. E. Schwab in comics form is shaping up to be one of the most exciting projects we’ve had,” said editor Amoona Saohin, “The characters of A Darker Shade of Magic have always had a striking vividness. One of the biggest joys is seeing Andrea’s gorgeous illustrations of the characters which have been meticulously designed, and overseen by Victoria herself. I am positive that the readers will love young Maxim Maresh and enjoy witnessing his trials as he goes head to head with the fierce pirate queen.”
Stay tuned for more information from this thrilling new story set in V.E. Schwab’s visionary world from Titan Comics soon.
Lion Forge Announces The Publication of Ezra Claytan Daniels’s
In conjunction with the 2018 Dwayne McDuffie Award for Diversity in Comics, Lion Forge announces the fall publication of Ezra Claytan Daniels’s moving work of interactive science fiction, Upgrade Soul, for which he was the recipient of the 2017 award. Lion Forge first announced this printed edition of the graphic novel at last year’s New York Comic Con, when the publication date had yet to be determined.
Upgrade Soul is the story of an elderly couple who become the guinea pigs of a visionary procedure that aims to revivify them by filtering toxins from their bodies on a molecular level. When the procedure experiences a fatal complication, the couple is faced with severely deformed, though intellectually superior, duplicates of themselves. Soon, it becomes clear that only one version of each individual can survive, and the psychological battle for dominance begins.
“The oldest Upgrade Soul file on my computer is dated May 18, 2001. That’s close to seventeen years this story has been a part of my life,” says creator Ezra Claytan Daniels. “I still can’t believe it’s finished, and I’m beyond excited for people to finally be able to read it!”
Daniels continues, “So much has happened in the world since I started this book. It almost feels meant to be that its completion has coincided with the emergence of Lion Forge 2.0. They’ve so strongly demonstrated a commitment to the ideals that are closest to my heart, and at the core of Upgrade Soul, that I can’t imagine this book anywhere else.”
“Upgrade Soul is, quite simply, one of the best comics I’ve ever read,” said Andrea Colvin, VP and Executive Editor. “It is a poignantly touching examination of love, marriage, intellect, science, ethics, and mortality; but it’s also a thrilling page-turner of a story, with myriad twists and turns, and a breathless finale. I am beyond proud to be publishing this singularly unique book.”
Upgrade Soul will be released at finer comic shops everywhere on September 5, and in bookstores on September 13, 2018.
