Confidential Assignment

In Confidential Assignment, a North Korean investigator, Lim Cheol-ryeong, teams up with a South Korean detective, Gang Jin-tae, to find the man that stole North Korea’s ‘superdollar,’ a notorious, counterfeit American dollar printed by North Korea. The plates used to make the ‘superdollar’ are stolen by North Korean official, Cha Gi-seong, who fled to South Korea. In desperate need of help, North Korean officials contact the South Korean government and – without disclosing why they are looking for him – ask for help in locating Cha. South Korean officials agree to help, but they have their own agenda. Everyone wants to get their hands on Cha and maybe even those ‘superdollars’.

Den of Thieves is a gritty Los Angeles crime saga which follows the intersecting and often personally connected lives of an elite unit of  the LA County Sheriff’s Department and the state’s most successful bank robbery crew as they plan a seemingly impossible heist on the Federal Reserve Bank of Downtown Los Angeles.

Wanderland

Fed up with his humdrum, isolated life in New York City, 34 year old Alex (Tate Ellington) responds to an unusual group email invitation from an acquaintance (Dree Hemingway) to house-sit at a picturesque cottage in the Hamptons for the weekend. Following his GPS, he drives to the isolated part of Long Island, but discovers his cellphone charger is broken and that he’s completely cut off from the internet. A chance meeting with a woman on the beach (Tara Summers) sets off a chain of events where he finds himself stranded with a dead car and dead phone. In his effort to fix his car and get back to the cottage, he ends up lost on a musical, dream-like “Alex in Wonderland” adventure, caught in a series of awkward and surreal situations with a colorful cast of characters. Without his phone to protect him and forced to interact with these people face to face, Alex rediscovers the magic of human connection, and ultimately discovers that the vibrant, musical world he’s wished for his whole life is there all around him, if he listens.

Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool

Based on Peter Turner’s memoir, the film follows the playful but passionate relationship between Turner (Jamie Bell) and the eccentric Academy Awardwinning actress Gloria Grahame (Annette Bening) in 1978 Liverpool. What starts as a vibrant affair between a legendary femme fatale and her young lover quickly grows into a deeper relationship, with Turner being the person Gloria turns to for comfort. Their passion and lust for life is tested to the limits by events beyond their control.

The Con is On

This stylish, star-studded caper comedy stars Uma Thurman (Kill Bill franchise) as Harriet and Tim Roth (The Hateful Eight) as Peter, a con-artist couple cooking up a jewel-theft scam in L.A. to pay off sexy gangster Irina (played by Maggie Q). Having squandered Irina’s loot one drunken night, Harriet and Peter escape to Hollywood, where they plot to steal a priceless jewel from Peter’s loopy ex-wife (Alice Eve) to repay the debt. The dazzling cast also includes Parker Posey (Superman Returns) and Sofia Vergara (TV’s “Modern Family”).
