King Richard’s Faire Opens 37th Season With New Acts and Artisans; Plus Win Tickets!

Craftsman and chef, actors and acrobats are busy preparing for the September 1st opening of the 37th season of King Richard’s Faire In the enchanted woods of “Carvershire” (Carver, Mass.). Open weekends and Monday holidays from September 1 through October 21, 2018, the Realm is abuzz with the return of “Queen Anne” (actress Elizabeth Clouse), who looking forward to visiting with new royal artisans and court members, and being entertained by all of the wonderful new performers in the village.

Guests are treated to a bevy of delights, from high-flying aerial artists to food fit for a King. The Faire is home to eight stages, a mud show, and a tournament field all packed with interactive entertainment, from musicians and magicians to actors and acrobats. All day, performers engage their audiences and guests stroll the “lanes” of Carvershire exploring all the event has to offer – there’s plenty to do at King Richard’s Faire, from cheering on daring knights jousting on horseback to shopping for handmade wares and games of skill.

New to Carvershire in 2018: Three Pints Shy, an upbeat Celtic group; Up In Arms, a handsome and skilled acrobat and juggler; and music and singing from Meraki Caravan and Music The Gathering. Returning for the following dates only (Sept. 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23) is Snorkle the Trained Stunt Pig and his talented juggling parents Rick and Jan Stratton. Her Majesty Queen Anne also welcomes two new princesses to her service and our tiger act will feature two new tiger cubs born earlier this year.

Princesses will enjoy shopping amongst the realm’s newest merchants: Midgard Armory, for handcrafted swords and weapons; Name Art for hand-painted names with an Asian flare; Red Falcon Leather and Armour for beautifully crafted leather wares; and engraved drinking horns and wooden signs by Deevious Art. Shoppers will peruse Renaissance clothing by new artisan Fiona’s Fineries; hand-painted home décor from Wizards Home Decor; readings by talented Urthbound Mystic and hand-carved brooms, walking staffs or tree art from Seekers & Settlers located in our tournament field.

King Richard’s Faire patrons won’t want to miss these guest artisans while they briefly visit our realm: Dragonfly’s Realm, for games for all to play (Sept. 1, 2, 3, 8 & 9); Tokens of Antiquity for beautiful crafted jewelry (Sept. 1, 2, 3, 8 & 9); Henna By Humi for detailed henna tattoos (Sept. 8, 9, 15, 16, 22 & 23) and the Enchanted Glyph for ornate Celtic artwork, prints and pendants (Oct. 13, 14, 20 & 21).
