James Robinson has written a great story arc here. Batman is teamed up with Two-Face and they have a rollicking time. At least they do in the the dialogue and circumstances that Robinson comes up with in this issue. He has a great handle on both of those things and he just runs away with it having fun.
In the beginning of this issue, the two are trying to figure out how to stop the band of criminals known as Kobra. Apparently, there is a new drug on the street and it’s the most deadly yet. They start investigating and it leads to a showdown!
Kobra attacks the desperate duo! They have a fight! It’s a well drawn sequence by Carmine di Giandomenico. He gets the action flowing naturally and it’s highly dynamic.
Robinson even has written a funny moment for Two-Face when he makes fun of Batman and calls him Pollyanna. It’s laugh out loud funny.
The fight ends and the duo resumes their search. But it’s grows more and more desperate. They stumble upon the plan of what Kobra plans to do.
And that plan? Well, it’s to put a mind control substance into the drinking water and control all of Gotham City.
It’s a good ending to this cool chapter of this story. Robinson makes every scene count and he works best in stories that are grounded in reality. That’s what makes this wonderful. He does great too working with the art. This is an awesome storyline. I’m enjoying it very much.
