Stream On: New to Netflix for November 2018

As the weather grows cool and the holidays on fast approach, the time to become a winter hermit is upon us with enough new and compelling original series, movies and specials to keep auds holed up for the winter season.

In November, House of Cards returns to the streaming service, sans President Francis Underwood as the focus of the series shifts from Kevin Spacey to Robin Wright’s Claire Underwood, who starts season six as overseer of the Oval Office. The series kicks off 100 days into Claire’s administration.

The month also sees the debut of the Orson Welles documentary They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead, which takes a gander as the screen legend’s final unfinished film and the struggles he faced in bringing his vision to the big screen.

For the kiddies, Netflix offers the second season of Trolls: The Beat Goes On! and the debut of the original Princess of Power, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. Netflix and DreamWorks Animation gives He-Man’s sister a modern overhaul as she and her Princess buddies defend Etheria from baddies.

And for adult kiddies there is Super Drags, which follows three gay men who work retail by day, but fight crime by night in their drag queen alter-egos. series stars Drag Race superstars Trixie Mattel, Willam, Shangela and Ginger Minj. Penis jokes to ensue.

And because we are only a few days from Halloween, that means it’s time to plug Christmas movies, and this time, it’s a whopper. This year, we got man’s man Kurt Russell as Kris Kringle in the holiday movie The Christmas Chronicles.

Yeah. Let that sink in. Snake Plissken is gonna save Christmas. Hell. I’m in.

As for the main catalogue, Netflix offers a ton of goodies to keep you homebound. To keep you shivering under the covers, there is Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Green Room, Cape Fear, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Cloverfield, and Sex & The City: The Movie (it didn’t age well…trust me). For date night, there is The English Patient,Good Will Hunting, Sixteen Candles and Julie & Julia. And for laughs, check out National Lampoon’s Animal House and The Break-Up.
