The opening sequence has a strange invasion taking place in it. A ninja looking guy breaks into a private residence. But there’s more than meets the eye here. Priest starts his story with an interesting premise and then just takes off with it!
From there, we see Slade trying to break out of Arkham Asylum. It’s a beautifully drawn scene by Pasarin as its both vivid and exciting.
Eventually Slade gets tasered and beaten and he is left in a bloody mess in his prison cell. It’s a brutal scene and it’s a great opening few pages for sure.
We then get to see a comically fun scene where Two-Face has escaped from Arkham and breathes fresh air. He is enjoying being in Vietnam. It’s funny because he has a peaceful moment and then he is attacked by Willow. He stops her and it appears he has a plan in mind for her. A dark plan. Apparently, he has a previous relationship with her family and he means to exploit it.
We then cut back to Slade hobbling around Arkham. He starts plotting ways to get out, of course.
The rest of the issue is basically Slade trying to recuperate and Two-Face forming a plan in Vietnam. This all leads to a horrifying but exciting ending where Slade gets to have an unfortunate meet up with some of the inmates.
These inmates are psychotic and it’s a tense last scene. And I just loved it to pieces.
Priest does an amazing job with this issue yet again. He keeps the reader going with great stories, fantastic dialogue, and sheer adrenaline. This is another fine story and a great collaboration with Pasarin. This is a rare book that is only getting better with each passing issue.
