Rob Williams run on Suicide Squad is coming to a close. It’s been a run of high insanity and some decent entertainment. This is the beginning of the end though. And Williams gives us a really fun and exciting closing storyline.
We get a huge action scene to start off the issue. We see Rick Flag In action! But he makes a huge mistake in the field and winds up in prison.
From there he is asked one very simple question: “Have you ever heard of the Suicide Squad?”
Williams sets the stage nicely and gives us a nice look on to how Flag got to where he is in the present day comic.
And then from there we end up in an underwater base, right where we left off in the last issue. And that’s when things go amazingly bananas. It felt like a 1990’s early Image Comic it was so bananas. But I went with it because why not?
Williams does the opposite of subtlety here, and we see a mad fight for survival. We see Amanda Waller trying to fight her way out. We see Harley Quinn trying to save the world from her corner of the battle! And we see Rick Flag coming up against the main villain of the piece right at the end.
And boy is it stupid, stupid fun. Hahahahaha.
The story is crazy. The art isn’t as good as what I would hope but it works. I really have nothing more to say except it’s enjoyable and you need to turn your brain off as always to read this. I enjoyed it for the silly goofy time that it is.
