This issue is the conclusion of this series. It’s actually a pretty decent conclusion too that made me a little sad. I feel like this was just starting to get really good and now it’s just ending. This series was such a huge hit for DC that I felt at the end I just wanted more.
Naomi’s origins have been revealed!
Now there is a major threat coming for her! In the beginning of the issue, all of her friends are scrambling to find her.
The anxiety created by co-writers Bendis and Walker is palpable.
We see Naomi confront the villain that is dedicated to destroy her. Naomi makes a hard decision and goes with the creature. This whole thing sets up the ending of this series.
Naomi gets to see just where she was born.
It’s a weird landscape and it’s beautifully drawn by artist Jamal Campbell. His artwork on this series has been beyond amazing and he really makes this issue his best one yet.
Naomi learns what happened to her parents. It’s an emotional scene for sure and it’s well handled by the creative team. I have to hand it to them, they really bring the series home with this issue.
Then, an action scene follows as Naomi fights the villain of the series!
The ending is pretty perfect as well and I completely loved it. It looks like Naomi will have more adventures after this in Young Justice and another solo series. And she should.
Like I said, it felt like the creative team was just getting started. Now let’s see where they can possibly take us.
