‘Wonder Twins #6’ (review)

Written by Mark Russell
Illustrated by Stephen Byrne
Published by DC Comics

This is definitely one of my favorite series of the year.

Mark Russell is one of the best writers in comics and here he proves to us again why that is. His scripts are funny smart and compelling. This issue continues the story of the Twins and it’s an amazingly good read.

There is something big coming down the line. The people in Washington are preparing for it. It’s something called “The Great Scramble.” You see the Scrambler has given the entire world thirty days to fix it’s problems.

Otherwise, it’s going to end up being the Great Scramble!

The Great Scramble, you see, is going to be an event where people would be assigned into another person’s body at random.  This sends the world into a panic.

The Justice League have no idea what to do. Everything is falling apart. That’s when Jayna and Zan have to get involved. And it’s hilarious.

The Wonder Twins have to track the Scrambler down. They go into the Lexicon Prison Center. They interview Praying Mantis. They are doing everything in their power to track down the villain and prevent the Great Scramble from happening! I was falling off my seat laughing reading the entire issue.

The ending is perfect. I don’t want to spoil it but suffice to say that the Wonder Twins succeed and they kind of don’t as well. There is a cliffhanger of sorts that made me wonder what is going to happen next.

The art by Stephen Byrne is tops. This is one of the best creative teams in comics. This is going to return in September and I can’t wait. It’ll be on the top of my reading like for sure.

RATING: A
