Dan Jurgens has been doing an incredibly wonderful job on this title. With every new storyline, this book just has been getting better and better. I love what he has done. He may have found the best collaborator in his career with Rick Leonardi. They work so well together that the book is the best that it’s ever been!
The book starts off with Bruce and Matt having discovered that the person in the Batsuit isn’t Terry!
That’s right! False Face is wearing the costume and he’s building himself an army! The opening scenes show him trying to negotiate with criminals and misusing the title of the Batman!
We get to hear a little backstory. It helps to deepen the character of False Face and his motivations.
Meanwhile, Bruce and Matt are in the Batcave watching all of this happen. Melanie then shows up. She knows Batman isn’t Terry and that he is a phony and she aims to do something about it.
She then takes off into the night!
We then see Terry on the street suffering from amnesia. The cops come over and confront him on it, yet he has no recollection on who he is. This annoys the cops. They try to take him in,but Terry fights back.
Before the end of the issue, we get a really dynamic fight. We also get a special visitor by the end of the issue. That part alone is worth the price of the book. The surprise is a lot of fun and does not feel forced. In fact, it feels rather natural. And that’s a good thing.
The ending of this is quite exciting and a hell of a cliffhanger to leave off on. I love the way this book has been progressing. The story is sharp and it never gets heavy handed. This is another great chapter in this book. It’s been truly an awesome ride thus far.
