Man, this book really snuck under my radar. It’s a horror take on the DC Universe that I didn’t see coming. It’s so damn good, too. Tom Taylor has written a taut yet inventively horrifying tale that honestly does not let up. It’s been great so far and it’s only getting better!
The opening of this book is damn exciting! We get to see Captain Atom making a plan to fight those that are infected!
But the plan to fight them doesn’t look like it’s going too well. In fact, it looks like Captain Atom has gotten himself infected! This is getting insane!
We then cut over to see Green Arrow and the Super family coming together to regroup.
They send out a signal that the Justice League is going to come together in Metropolis. That way, the group can form a plan together! It seems like a smart idea. It’s not long however before they find themselves under attack by a crazy zombie army!
The rest of the book is pretty much an epic battle. It’s a lot of fun watching the superheroes kill some of the zombified characters and have the looks of regret on their faces. Taylor keeps the book cooking too with some decent dialogue and some crazy fun moments.
Cyborg plays a cool part here as he explains why the heroes are attracting the zombies! He also has a plan to fight back. But they better act quick. Washington D.C. is destroyed and the Anti-Life equation is loose. What’s going to happen? I don’t know but things are really heating up! And it’s great!
The story is tops! It’s a fast moving comic book that doesn’t let up. The art by Trevor Hairsine really is some of the best and most exciting storytelling I’ve seen in quite some time. The creative team works so well together and I can’t stop reading this comic. I’ve become pretty obsessed with this. It’s been pretty damn great.
