‘Batman #82’ (review)

Written by Tom King
Art by Mikel Janin
Published by DC Comics

The “City of Bane” storyline rages on in this issue.

This has been a very exciting story thus far. There are only three issues left in Tom King’s run on Batman, but it is starting to look like that he might have indeed saved the best for last! This is another exciting issue!

The first page is Bane and Bruce having a stand off.

Bane proclaims “No Masks.”

Bruce agrees.

It is a striking first page. I was immediately intrigued and couldn’t wait to see what this would lead to.

They then agree to “no help.” These two guys are going to fight and it is going to be brutal.

Bane even rips out his connection to the venom! This is some serious stuff! They face off! Then, came one of the coolest moments that leads to one of my favorite splash pages. It also has one of Bruce’s finest moments in the entire series. It is seriously that good.

Bane goes down. But he doesn’t stay down. Then, came a moment when Bane calls Bruce a “rich jackass” and I was in love with this fight! Catwoman plays a part and it is just plain awesome.

Meanwhile, the Thomas Wayne Batman is making his way towards Bruce. Things just get more and more tense. Bruce looks like he may be getting the upper hand finally!

And then, the twist happens. It really is quite good.
It is a hell of an issue. It is leading to a hell of a conclusion it seems. Everything seems to be tying together in a really cool way.

The art by Janin is great, too. I love this story and I can’t wait to see how it ends. This has really been a really great storyline. I can’t wait for the next issue! Bring it on!
