Man, series artist Ryan Sook is really killing it on those covers. This one is particularly great as well. His interior art is also pretty damn good. It amplifies the story very much, even when the story isn’t working as well as it should. It really is a commendable art job.
The Legion has found Aquaman’s Trident!
Hooray! This is a hot item in the future.
The Legion figures this out quite quickly. As soon as they get it, they are attacked by a bunch of villains. Everyone wants the Trident, and they will stop at nothing to get it!
There is a big fight that happens!
Superboy flies away with the Trident. He tries to get away but he is attacked. Who is attacking him and why do they want the Trident so badly?
The Legion eventually get away with it and bring it directly to Braniac’s lab.
They examine the Trident. The Legion then regroups and try to figure out the next step. Then Superman makes a decision. He decides that he needs some help. So he decides to go see the Damian Wayne Robin. And that is where the issue ends. I loved the ending to be honest. It is the best part of this.
The art again is the really just awesome. The writing gets a little too cute and jokey for my tastes. It is a little boring to be honest, but again it does have a cute ending. Maybe it’ll pick up but this could have been stronger than it is.
