‘Batman Beyond #40’ (review)

Written by Dan Jurgens
Art by Sean Chen
Published by DC Comics

Dan Jurgens is doing some really solid work on this title. The latest storyline going on in this book has been just a great time. There are so many balls that are up in the air and Jurgens balances then with ease. This issue is quite good as well.

This issue opens with a peak inside the life of the villain Blight. Two of his friends show up for a visit. The friends can’t believe what Blight has turned into. The two friends then agree to join him in his scheme. It is a little bit of a wacky beginning to this comic book.

From there, we see the mysterious new Batwoman soaring in the sky!

Who is she? What is her goal?

Right now, she is off to a building that has explosions coming out of it. She saves some of the people there and then regroups.

We then see a meeting in the Batcave being run by Bruce Wayne. Bruce wants to know who this Batwoman is. While they are meeting, an explosion happens. There are villains actually attacking Wayne Manor. Luckily, the new Batwoman shows up to save the day!

A big fight breaks out! It is awesome!

That is when a mysterious visitor shows up! He talks to the team. And that is when we learn the identity of the mysterious Batwoman. And I have to admit, it was really cool.

Dan Jurgens has taken this title and really advanced it to become a viable property. He has done a great job. The art by Sean Chen is perfect and makes this book even better. This is another solid issue in this series.

RATING: A-
