‘Batman/Superman #6’ (review)

Written by Joshua Williamson
Art by David Marquez
Published by DC Comics

This series had a great first five issue and this one follows suit.

Joshua Williamson has been having a blast writing this book, it seems, and it is as dark as can be. He really has a great handle on writing these characters and this book is always a good and solid read.

This issue is the aftermath of the Infection storyline and it start off with a really horrifying scene.

We get to see Commissioner Gordon in a straight jacket. He is infected by the madness of The Batman Who Laughs. It is a painful scene to read.

The art by artist David Marquez is perfect as it shows Gordon coming out from the shadows. Batman and Superman look at him and they are horrified. It is a brutal and intense scene.

After that, Batman and Superman go looking for Wonder Woman. She hasn’t been responding to their communications they have sent her. They go look for her. They find her and it turns out that she is in the middle of a fight! So what do they do? They join her  in the fight, of course!

The fight is pretty short! Wonder Woman is mad, asking if there is a cure for the infection! The three of them have a discussion. Then, they part ways. It is A very melancholy couple of pages.

By the end of the issue,  Superman and Batman meet up with the Infected Gordon one more time. It is a nice turn of events here. Williamson and Marquez really bring it home.

This is a nice epilogue to the first storyline and it is really well done.
