‘Legion Of Super Heroes #3’ (review)

Written by Brian Michael Bendis
Art by Ryan Sook
and Travis Moore
Published by DC Comics

This book has felt like a big disappointment.

I really like the art but Bendis writes this book in the same way he writes the title Young Justice. There is a lot of flash and no real substance. And that is a shame. I feel like these awesome characters deserve better than this.

The issue starts off with some villains planning to do something the Legion. It is a brief scene that sets up the conflict for the issue. From there, we head into the main storyline.

Superboy has brought the Damian Wayne Robin to the future.

That’s right, the Super Sons are back together!

Jon has a great time showing Damian around. It is admittedly a lot of fun at first.  Damian is introduced to Dawnstar and the dialogue in that scene is actually a lot of fun to read.

That is when the villains from the beginning of the issue make their move!

And the action is, well, it is boring quite frankly.

There is then some action on Planet Gotham. And that is when the whole issue just goes out of whack and it becomes very difficult to tell what is actually going on.

I have known a lot of these characters for years, yet I feel like I don’t even know this version of the Legion.

The fights in this have nothing special going on and having Damian there is rather pointless. I can’t blame the artists as they are both very good. It is the script that is the issue and it makes the whole comic book not add up to much at all.
