This has been a really fun book these last few issues.
Ric Grayson has been beaten to hell by the Talon of the Court of the Owls.
Then, in a hell of a twist, he actually became the Talon!
Writer Dan Jurgens has been having one heck of a time on this title. Every issue has been more exciting than the previous one and it has been a great time reading this.
The first few pages have Ric recounting his life up until now.
We see a lot of classic moments. Then, we cut to the present day and Ric is standing over Condor Red. Ric has “snapped out of it” so to speak and is suddenly not the Talon anymore. That is when the other Talon sees him and reports back to the Court of the Owls.
Ric strips down to his civilian clothes and decides to face off against the evil Talon. The fight is crazy and exciting. Ric eventually beats the Talon and the Talon falls swearing that the Court is not done with him. It is an eerie scene and it is a satisfying conclusion to their fight.
Ric and Bea then reunite and have an emotional moment.
Ric is still confused with who he is. But then the two of them have a conversation. It is a beautiful moment that ends this book. The last splash page sums everything up perfectly.
This is the end of the latest storyline and it is really well done. The creative team are really keeping things consistent and entertaining. Overall, this is a a highly enjoyable read that is only getting better it seems.
