‘Red Hood: Outlaw #41’ (review)

Written by Scott Lobdell
Art by David Messina
Published by DC Comics

Writer Scott Lobdell really does make this comic book fresh and interesting with each new story. That is where we find ourselves with this latest arc. He honors what has come before but he makes it a fresh and fun path, one that is always worth exploring.

The opening image of the issue has the Red Hood being kissed by Artemis. It is very odd that she is kissing him. How did this happen?

Well, the next page gives us a nice and sweet flashback between Jason and Roy Harper from month’s ago. It is well handled and leads into the rest of the issue.

We then cut to the present day and we see the Red Hood on the ground unconscious.

His team looks at him and they check to see that his is okay. The remainder of the team are then attacked by the villains of the issue.

We get to see those villains next. Eventually, the Red Hood and his team regroup. We get to see what led to that kiss at the beginning of the issue. They escape their current predicament. And then it all leads to a sort of happy ending.

The issue feels a little bit short, even though it is very good. Lobdell really has a love for these characters and it shows on every page. The art is pretty cool in this issue as well.

Overall, it is another decent issue in a good series.

RATING: B+
