This is just a wonderful comic book. From the very first issue, writer Mark Russell has given this book an amazing sense of humor and a lot of great drama. He also nails the characters of Zan and Jayna and turns them both into viable and eclectic comic book characters.
The Colonel 86 Home Computer had come back online! It is a computer program from the 1980s that was designed by Filo Math.
Except this time, this program is taking over this entire world.
The book starts out with the Justice League trying to figure out how they are going to deal with this computer menace.
We then see the Wonder Twins driving Filo and Math Polly Math back to their house.
They get there and the house isn’t as Mr. Math remembers. He was gone for so long that his stuff was sold off in an estate sale. They all go to a restaurant and have something to eat and they try to regroup from this news.
The real threat will come, however, if the Colonel 86 program goes online. And guess what happens? Yes indeed, it goes online. This is one of the funniest issues of the series. The plot is perfect and the execution is pretty hilarious.
This issue shows the rise of the Colonel 86 system. It also happens to show the fall of it as well. Russell keeps the whole story interesting and enjoyable and it has one hell of a last page.
The art by Stephen Byrne is perfect as always. He knows how to make each moment count and his figure work is fantastic. There is only one more issue in this series. That makes me sad. But if it is as good as this issue is, then this series will end on a high note.
