‘Batman Beyond #42’ (review)

Written by Dan Jurgens

Published by DC Comics

This is a really great book that continues to be awesome.

Writer Dan Jurgens has done a superb job on this title. The book is only getting better with each and every issue. This one might actually be the best yet!

The opening scene has the villainous Blight flying around.

Blight seems to know that Bruce Wayne was Batman. He is about to use that knowledge it seems. Jurgens has utilized Blight to great effect. He is perfectly villainous and is very well developed.

We get to see the Batman crew at Wayne Manor regrouping. Bruce knows that Elainna Grayson is the new Batwoman causing all the ruckus.

But nearly immediately, the gang is attacked suddenly by Blight! He catches them by surprise and they are not ready.

Blight starts destroying Wayne Manor trying to kill the entire group.

Batwoman makes a decision to go back and help save the group. It is a nicely done scene and it is very dramatic. Blight then has Batwoman on the ropes. Things are looking very dark indeed!

That is when Batman makes an appearance!

It is an excellent moment that is really inspiring. This has an awesome ending as well. The creative team do a superb job with this story and it ends strong.

Now, what will happen next? I have no idea but I cant wait to see.

RATING: B+
