‘Justice League Dark #21’ (review)

Written by James Tynion IV, Ram V.
Art by Kyle Hotz
Published by DC Comics

“Oelilag!
Yrev Yrev Gninnethgirf.
Stlobrednuht Dna Gninthgil!”

Part Two of the current Parliaments of Life storyline, sees our team scrambling to deal with a full-scale war of the Parliaments. One that threatens to upend to natural order of things.

That’s good for a certain one-time avatar of the Rot. But not so good for the current one, Abigail Arcane.

Abigail’s been struggling with a suffocation of inner demons. So, who better than John Constantine to save the day. Seriously, that man always seems to have a trick up his sleeve.

Good things he’s got Zatanna around to have his back… and clean up his messes.

Still no sign of Swamp Thing.

But things in L.A. are getting desperate. I certainly hope Buddy Baker’s Hail Mary play packs a bigger punch than one might first suspect…

Not sure who’s doing what in this collaboration – but James Tynion IV and Ram V certainly make a good team together. And my favorite DC artist Alvarao Martinez Bueno is back with a vengeance, in all the creepy, crusty, rusty… and rotting… corners of the DC universe.

Certainly good to see that the spirit of the Vine seems to run throughout.

Next Issue: The Sacred and the Profane.
