Christian Bale (The Dark Knight) is confirmed to play the antagonist in the highly-anticipated Thor: Love and Thunder.
In a recent interview with ET, co-star Tessa Thompson revealed she has read the script for the upcoming installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has learned that Valkyrie and the titular god of thunder will have to face off against Bale’s still-unknown character, with some speculating he could be portraying Balder the Brave.
Beauty and the Beast is getting a prequel series set to focus on Luke Evans (Murder Mystery) and Josh Gad (Frozen 2)’s Gaston and LeFou.
The series, which will be written by Once Upon a Time creators Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, will be a six-episode limited series musical event with composer Alan Menken also in talks to return to craft music for the series. The project is currently in early development.
Horowitz and Kitsis are going to partner with Gad to serve as showrunners on the series, with the trio writing all six scripts and executive producing alongside Evans.
Penny Dreadful: City of Angels Trailer Released
Showtime has debuted the official Penny Dreadful: City of Angels trailer for the spiritual descendant of the original Penny Dreadful story. Set to premiere on Sunday, April 26 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
City of Angels is set in 1938 Los Angeles, a time and place deeply infused with Mexican-American folklore and social tension. Rooted in the conflict between characters connected to the deity Santa Muerte and others allied with the Devil, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels will explore an exciting mix of the supernatural and the combustible reality of that period, creating new occult myths and moral dilemmas within a genuine historical backdrop.
When a grisly murder shocks the city, Detective Tiago Vega (Daniel Zovatto) and his partner Lewis Michener (Nathan Lane) become embroiled in an epic story that reflects the rich history of Los Angeles: from the building of the city’s first freeways and its deep traditions of Mexican-American folklore, to the dangerous espionage actions of the Third Reich and the rise of radio evangelism. Before long, Tiago and his family are grappling with powerful forces that threaten to tear them apart.
