HBO Max is partnering with the 38-year-old actor and comedian Sarah Silverman for a new animated comedy series Santa Inc.
Created by Alexandra Rushfield (Shrill), the series will be an adult animated comedy centering on Candy Smalls (Silverman), the highest-ranking elf at the North Pole, and when the successor to Santa Claus (Rogen) is poached by Amazon on Christmas Eve, she looks to achieve her ultimate dream of becoming the first female Santa in the history of Christmas.
Clarice, The Equalizer and B Positive Series Picked Up By CBS
CBS has announced it has given full series orders to The Silence of the Lambs sequel series Clairce, the Thomas Middleditch and Annaleigh Ashford-starring comedy B Positive and The Equalizer reboot starring Queen Latifah.
Set in 1993, six months after the events of The Silence of the Lambs, Clarice is a deep dive into the untold personal story of FBI Agent Clarice Starling as she returns to the field to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators while navigating the high stakes political world of Washington, D.C.
The Equalizer reboot will be a new take on the classic series and film franchise. It will follow the story of Queen Latifah’s character as an enigmatic figure who uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn. The series will be written by Marlow and Miller, who will both be serving as showrunners.
B Positive follows a divorced dad (Middleditch) in need of a kidney donor, and in his moment of desperation he meets Gina, a tough woman from his past who offers to donate her kidney, and the two begin to form an unlikely bond that will change both of their lives.
Shirley Trailer Starring Elisabeth Moss Released
NEON has released the official Shirley trailer for director Josephine Decker’s forthcoming psychological drama film, featuring Golden Globe and Emmy-winning actress Elisabeth Moss as she tries to write a novel based on a newlywed couple who moves into her house in the hopes of starting a new life.
Based on Susan Scarf Merrell’s novel of the same name, Shirley tells the story of renowned horror writer Shirley Jackson, who is on the precipice of writing her masterpiece when the arrival of newlyweds upends her meticulous routine and heightens tensions in her already tempestuous relationship with her philandering husband. The middle-aged couple, prone to ruthless barbs and copious afternoon cocktails, begins to toy mercilessly with the naïve young couple at their door.

After two remote episodes of the long-running NBC sketch series, the network took to Twitter to reveal this week’s Saturday Night Live at Home episode will also mark the season 45 finale.
The newest edition of SNL will be produced remotely with cast members filming sketches from their homes. The host and/or musical guest for this Saturday’s episode of SNL has not yet been released.
The main cast of NBC’s fan-favorite sitcom Community will be participating on a virtual table read and Q&A along with creator Dan Harmon as a way to raise funds of COVID-19 relief charities consisting of José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen and Frontline Foods which both give foods to first responders who are working on the frontlines and vulnerable communities across America. The table read event and Q&A will be available for streaming on Monday, May 18 at 2 PM PT through Sony Pictures TV’s Community YouTube channel. In addition, fans can also submit their questions for the Q&A segment on social media with the #AskCommunity and tag @CommunityTV.
The virtual event will include Community alums Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Ken Jeong, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jim Rash, and Donald Glover will also be joining the reunion. They will be reading episode 5.04 titled “Cooperative Polygraphy,” which was first aired on January 16, 2014.
Great Scott! Back To The Future Reunion on Josh Gad’s Web Series
Following the premiere of Josh Gad’s new web series Reunited Apart featuring a reunion with the cast and creators of The Goonies, Gad has revealed the second episode will serve as a reunion for the cast of Back to the Future.
The second episode geared towards helping Project Hope, a global nonprofit working to save lives around the world and deliver programs that improve people’s lives. The Goonies reunion episode raised funds for The Center for Disaster Philanthropy.
The virtual reunion will air on May 11 at 9 a.m. PT/12 p.m. ET on Gad’s YouTube Channel.
Disney+ has announced that its short-form series featuring The Muppets, titled Muppets Now, will begin streaming on the platform this summer.
Muppets Now will feature celebrity guest stars in the brand-new, unscripted short-form series. There were early rumors that Muppets Now would be comprised of segments like a game show, a cooking show, and a talk show, but nothing has yet been confirmed about the actual content fans can expect to see in the new series.
Muppets Now is being described as an improvised situation comedy based on Jim Henson’s The Muppets franchise with Kirk Thatcher attached to direct.
Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney+ are developing a National Treasure TV series, which will feature a new, younger cast.
“We’re certainly working on one [National Treasure] for streaming and we’re working on one for the big screen. Hopefully, they’ll both come together and we’ll bring you another National Treasure, but they’re both very active….The one for Disney+ is a much younger cast. It’s the same concept but a young cast. The one for the theatrical would be the same cast,” said Bruckheimer.
