‘Batman/Superman #9’ (review)

Written by Joshua Williamson
Art by Clayton Henry
Published by DC Comics

It is the start of a new storyline for this comic.

Joshua Williamson has kept these stories really moving on this title. He handles both of the lead characters very well, and he comes up with some excellent scripts.

I was excited to see just where he was going to take us to this time.

A body shows up on Gotham Harbor to start off this book. We see the Batmobile pulling up. Then we see a crazed villain called the Atomic Skull who is running away and completely out of his mind.

What is happening here?

I don’t know but I was immediately intrigued and ready to find out more.

Batman starts chasing the villainous Atomic Skull. The Skull feigns his innocence! Batman and the police take him on! There is a big fight!

Then, Superman “hears” that there is something going on and heads on over!

Superman gets there and the streets of Gotham are destroyed! He finds Batman under some rubble. The two of them regroup!

That is when we see that they will be going up against the group known as the Atomic Army!

The story left me breathless. It is super fast paced and just a good time. The art by Clayton Henry is the best of his career.

This is a very beautiful looking book. It is too short for sure, but I certainly enjoyed this.

Well done.

RATING: A-
