Tenet Moves to July 31; Wonder Woman 1984 Jumps to October 2nd
Instead on July 17, Warner Bros. Pictures is partnering with exhibitors to invite audiences around the world to the 10th anniversary re-release of Christopher Nolan’s Inception starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page and Marion Cotillard.
Tenet, Christopher Nolan’s espionage thriller stars John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Michael Caine, and Kenneth Branagh.
With Tenet’s release day pushed, Warner has also moved director Patty Jenkins’ sequel to her 2017 box office hit, Wonder Woman to October 2nd.
WW1984 stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince, Chris Pine (reprising his role as Steve Trevor), along with newcomers Kristen Wiig (as archeologist Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah) and Pedro Pascal (as media entrepreneur Maxwell Lord).
Amazon Prime has officially set the premiere date for STX Films’ long-delayed action comedy film My Spy. Originally scheduled for a theatrical release last April, the Dave Bautista-led film will now be making its U.S. debut on Friday, June 26, exclusively on Prime Video.
My Spy follows a hardened CIA operative (Bautista) who finds himself at the mercy of a precocious 9-year-old girl (Coleman), having been sent undercover to surveil her family. Bautista and Jonathan Meisner serve as producers on the film, and STXfilms’ SVP of production Drew Simon and director of development Kate Vorhoff will oversee production.
The film stars Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) as JJ Cena, Chloe Coleman (Big Little Lies) as Sophie Newtown, Kristen Schaal (BoJack Horseman) as Bobbi Ault, Ken Jeong (The Hangover film trilogy) as Kim Trang, and Parisa Fitz-Henley (Jessica Jones) as Kate Newtown.
Disney’s film adaptation of The One and Only Ivan will release on Disney+ on August 21.
Award-winning Danny DeVito and Helen Mirren lead the voice cast which also includes Angelina Jolie, Sam Rockwell, and Brooklynn Prince, while the live-action cast includes Bryan Cranston, Ramon Rodriquez, Arianna Greenblatt, Indira Varma, and Eleanor Matsuura.

IFC Films’ Relic Trailer Released Starring Emily Mortimer
IFC Films has released the official Relic trailer for their upcoming psychological horror film, featuring new footage which gives viewers a better idea on what to expect from the terrifying film. Starring Emily Mortimer and Robyn Nevin.
Written and directed by Natalie Erika James in her feature debut, the film focused on elderly mother Edna as she inexplicably vanishes and sees her daughter Kay (Mortimer) and granddaugher Sam rush to their family’s decaying country home, finding clues of increasing dementia scattered around the house in her absence. After Edna returns just as mysteriously as she disappeared, Kay’s concern that her mother seems unwilling or unable to say where she’s been clashes with Sam’s unabashed enthusiasm to have her grandma back.
As Edna’s behavior turns increasingly volatile, both begin to sense that an insidious presence in the house might be taking control of her. All three generations of women are brought together through trauma and a powerful sense of strength and loyalty to face the ultimate fear together.
The Ghostbusters franchise documentary Cleanin’ Up the Town: Remembering Ghostbusters is debuting on Crackle on June 18th. The new documentary will dive deep into the making of the original film, featuring interviews with not only the film’s stars, but also the behind-the-scenes personalities who helped realize the unique vision.
Directed and produced by brother and sister team Anthony and Claire Bueno, Cleanin’ Up the Town: Remembering Ghostbusters charts the making of the original 1984 Ghostbusters, featuring exclusive interviews with over 40 members of the cast and crew including director Ivan Reitman and lead cast Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson. Over 10 years in the making, the documentary also chronicles the achievements made by the visual effects crew in creating the ghosts during the pre-digital age when special effects were still evolving.
