This is one of my favorite series of 2020.
I love The Question and I love this iteration of him. The creative team of writer Jeff Lemire and artist Denys Cowan have created a classic story here in my opinion. It is one that I will never forget.
It is that well done.
The Question has been hurtled through time in the last three issues.
This series shows him going through Hub City at various time periods.
The first Issue one was present day. The second was in the 1800s. The third was in 1941. This last issue is back to present day. I give the creative team credit for making each time period look great with plenty of story details.
So Vic Sage has made it back. But why did he go on this journey? What does it all mean?
Lemire peppers the script with little revelations through the beginning of the book. He is also going up the evil being who has been the “villain” of the overall storyline through the four books.
The issue with this is that the previous three issues ended with Vic in bad circumstances. Will things end the same here for Vic? We get to see throughout the issue that he has to fight. If he doesn’t, Hub City is done for. Things really take off from there!
This story ends in a spectacular fashion.
I love the Question. This may be my favorite story I have ever read featuring the character. The story is great and the art by Cowan is the best he has ever done on this title. Thumbs up all around.
