Daniel Warren Johnson has given us the best Wonder Woman story in years.
He has written an incredible script that is matched by his visuals. It is a strong and powerful book that doesn’t let up with it’s intensity. It also gives us plenty of drama and heavy emotion.
After finding out about how the “Dead Earth” came to be, Wonder Woman gathers herself together. She is at the final fortress of humankind. Diana prepares herself for one last battle, unlike any that has come before.
The real question becomes: Is she ready?
She barely has time to catch her breath when the Haedra launch their attack!
An all out battle erupts! I have read a lot of Daniel Warren Johnson’s work so I knew it would most likely be crazy. I didn’t think it would get THIS crazy.
Needless to say, I enjoyed the hell out of it.
The resolution to all of this will be one that I will be thinking about for some time to come. It was an ending that I have seen before yet it still worked perfectly for this. It is emotional yet accessible and it ends the book well.
This is a really different take on Wonder Woman. Johnson has outdone himself once again with this.
The Black Label line over at DC has some really strong material coming out.
This is one of the best they have done in this line of books.
