‘Batman/Superman Annual #1’ (review)

Written by Joshua Williamson
Art by Gleb Melnikov,
Dale Eaglesham, Clayton Henry

Published by DC Comics

This has been a pretty good title overall and this Annual is pretty decent, too.

Joshua Williamson has done a great job with this. He has made a nice standalone annual that is a lot of fun to read. It also maintains the energy and excitement that the regular issues have in them.

This book has a wacky opening!

Mr. Mxyzptlk is with Bat-Mite and a couple of kids. The kids are playing but it really ticks off Mxyzptlk.

Bat-Mite has a few words with the kids and Mxyzptlk. That is when Mr. Mxyzptlk comes up with one of his devious plans.

This play of Mxyzptlk‘s is basically to pit Batman and Superman against each other to answer the question who would win in a fight.

The two heroes end up having a big fight against each other. It is a lot of fun to read. The two heroes then have to find a way out of their predicament.

It is that, or one of them has to die!

Batman and Superman try to determine the way out of this.

They find a way to take the battle to Mxyzptlk. This leads to a hell of a lot of fun and adventure. It also leads to a cool ending fill with excitement and magic.

The story is a good time. Williamson clearly is having a blast and it shows. The art is pretty decent as well. This is a good time from the first page until the last.

It is a nice standalone Annual that works well.

RATING: A
