This is another spinoff from the main Dark Knights Death Metal event.
These have been generally very fun. This particular issue is fine enough and it does the trick.
It does feel like a bit of a trudge to get through at times. However, it does feel like a necessary chapter of the entire saga to read.
Perpetua has finally done something!
She has taken all of the various Earth’s and characters and put them all into one Earth now called Earth Prime. She also has taken her children who are the Monitor and Anti-monitor and made them be her guards.
Things are looking pretty bleak.
A ragtag group of heroes join forces to try to fight back and reset things to how they were before. I mean, they have Captain Carrot on this team so I was immediately sold!
We watch them formulate a plan. Then, they are off to fight!
And what a fight it turns into!
This is some great stuff. The artist, Juan Gedeon, does a great job of keeping the action exciting. He also makes the storytelling of the book easy to follow. His linework here is great and it is perfectly suited to the challenges of the story.
The ending of this book was not what I was expecting.
Tynion’s script is weak at times, but he does give us an exciting ending.
Overall, this book is good. The artwork makes the weaker parts less noticeable and it is a pretty entertaining issue overall.
