‘The Green Hornet #2’ (review)

Written by Scott Lobdell
Art by Anthony Marques
Published by Dynamite Entertainment

This Green Hornet series is a rather interesting mix.

I am loving the artwork very much. Anthony Marques is quite an artist. The story is a little bit all over the place for me, however. I thought it might smooth out a notch in this issue.

Sadly, that does not seem to be the case.

The Green Hornet is tracking down a missing girl. He took the case and followed the clues. He then came across a big conspiracy and then craziness ensued. We pick up with this issue with some sort of “space alien” wrecking havoc . It is really out there to say the least.

A whole lot of the issue is focused on the fight between the Green Hornet and this alien.

The Green Hornet and Kato jump in the car and make a get away! It is a fun scene. We also get to see a bit how this plays into the overall story.

There is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end. I found it a bit hard to care as there was so much going on that it was a bit hard to follow. The art is very good but there isn’t a lot to actually grab onto.

That is because the script from Lodbell is off. He doesn’t have a good feel for these characters. Also, it feels like a bit of a rush job from him.

That is a true shame as this could be really great. There are some nice moments for sure.

Sadly, though, the whole thing just feels like a missed opportunity.

RATING: B-
