This has been a great run of this book.

Writer Simon Spurrier has a real good take on this character and I am sorry that this series is coming to an end. This is a fine final issue as well, and the whole thing is really just well done.

Spurrier’s entire run has led to this very moment.

John Constantine has come face to face with an older version of himself.

We learn that this older Constantine has been the one responsible for planting all of this magical chaos around England.

He is the villain of the comic.

That means it is up to the younger John Constantine to stop him.

The older Constantine has one hell of an agenda. He even has all of his younger friends in his grasp and their lives hang in the balance. The stakes have never been higher and things get crazy.

The battle  between the elder and younger Constantine is the crux of the issue.

It is very a strong and powerful story. And even if the younger Constantine defeats his older self, will he become him?

The ending is pitch perfect and I love where we ended up here.

The story is really strong. Spurrier really has been my favorite writer for this character in years. The art is perfect as well.

I am sad that this book is on it’s way out. But this has great.

I look forward to reading this run from start to finish again one day.

RATING: A
