‘Nightwing #76’ (review)

Written by Dan Jurgens
Art by Ronan Cliquet
Published by DC Comics

Dick Grayson has all of his memories back and all is right in the world. Finally, this series has gotten back on track. It is not spectacular, but it is a decent enough read.

This particular issue isn’t bad and it just entertaining enough.

The opening scene has Batman, Nightwing, and Commissioner Gordon on a roof.

It is months ago. There is a criminal on the loose. He is leaving behind napkins as a sort of calling card. Is it “Napkin Man,” behind this, as Nightwing jokes?

We then cut to a roof. We see that the KGBeast is there and he has Bea hostage.

Nightwing comes at the Beast full throttle. After all, this is the guy who shot Dick. This is the guy who put the fans through two years of hell as Dick became Ric Grayson. Needless to say, I was cheering Dick on here!

So we get to see Dick go up against the Beast. He has to be careful though, as the Beast is looking to put a bullet into Bea. This issue is thrilling from start to finish.  It also has an ending that I won’t soon forget about.

The story is pretty damn good. Jurgens does a solid job here, and it all feels pretty right. The art by Cliquet is pretty good as well. Overall, this is a solid issue of a series that is on the upswing.

RATING: B+
