The first issue of this series really did a great job of constructing an intriguing new narrative for the Watchmen Universe.

I am happy to report that this particular issue follows suit and advances the story quite well.

I loved this issue and it is very well done.

At the beginning of the book, we get to see a man going into a strange sort of apartment building. He is doing some investigating, seemingly about Rorsharch himself.

It is an intriguing beginning that  just gets better and better throughout.

This detective is investigating the connection between an aging comic book artist named Will Myerson and Rorsharch. Will Myerson used to draw pirate comics and then seemingly disappeared. I love that King uses the pirate strips from the original Watchmen in this way.

This book digs into what exactly happened to Myerson.

We get to see him get involved with a woman that is looking to make sense of the present world. Can the detective find Myerson? And just what is his connection to the Rorsharch going around now?

Tom King is doing the best work of his career.

The script is tight and well paced and just brilliant. Artist Jorge Fornes is equally doing the work of his career and this is just great. Overall, this is a pretty fantastic book.

I can’t wait to see where we end up.

RATING: A
