Crispin Glover Checks In, Guardians of the Galaxy Takes a Few Months Off, First Look At Franco’s Trip To The Emerald City & More!

Disney has released the first look at the one-sheet of Sam Raimi‘s Oz The Great and Powerful which chronicles the origin story of the man who would become the wizard.  The cast includes James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams and Zach Braff.  Check out the official description below.

When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

There’s already been a release date shift for Marvel StudiosGuardians of the Galaxy from May 16, 2014 to August 1, 2014. The rumor is for the intergalactic heroes to face off against Thanos (the character teased mid-credits in this summer’s The Avengers).

Sharon Stone is back, co-starring in the upcoming ensemble Mother’s Day, “the indie drama
that follows the interconnecting relationships of 12 mothers and
daughters over the course of the titular holiday.”  Also in the cast is Christina Ricci and real-life mothers and daughters, Susan
Sarandon
and Eva Amurri Martino & Andie MacDowell and Rainey
Qualley

man (John Cusack) hired by an infamous crime boss (Robert De Niro). To complete the
job, the man must fight his way through a cast of other shadowy
characters who also have been summoned by the mobster to a decrepit
backwater motel in the Delta bayous. When the man crosses back with a
mysterious woman, they partner up to escape from the crime boss’
clutches and survive a night of murderous havoc.  Also in the cast, Martin Klebba, Dominic Purcell, Rebecca Da Costa and Kirk “Sticky Fingaz” Jones
