2013 Holiday Gift Guide:
Stocking Stuffers & Ephemera

You can make an impression without breaking your wallet or you can find the perfect thing you didn’t know existed within.  Whether it’s for a stocking hung by the chimney with care, a holiday gift swap or a memorable host gift, we got you covered.

That’s how we roll…

 Questlove Shrinky Dink Key Chain

Funkify up the keys of someone who loves The Roots with a key chain created from a digital drawing of a very pink Questlove printed on shrinky dink paper.

It’s so weird, you have to love it.

The IT Crowd Sticker 3 Pack

Celebrate the awesomeness of Roy Trenneman (Chris O’Dowd), Maurice Moss (Richard Ayoade) and Jen Barber (Katherine Parkinson) with a three pack of pixelated stickers from the hilarious British show The IT Crowd.

Perfect for anyone who happens to work in IT and wants to kill themselves.

Tetris Block Soap – Set of 7

Cleaning yourself will be even more time consuming thanks to this set of colored glycerin soap shaped like Tetris blocks. Each set can be color customized with your choice of fragrance to make it even more personal, which should allow you to keep your Tetris Freak body scented like Cherry Chapstick (or Bacon) while having the soap match your decor without clashing.

Shower-Time will never be so fun.

Nasal Nausea: Military-Grade Stink Solution

Nasal Nausea is a unique liquid which exudes a harrowing, assaultive stench so foul and disgusting that it can overwhelm anyone in its vicinity. The proprietary formula is so powerful that it is classified as a military-grade stink-bomb solution.

So it’s probably best to give it to your niece or nephew right before you leave the house.

Build Your Own New York

Build Your Own New York is a series of postcards published by Wurlington Press which can be cut and assembled into miniature paper models of prominent New York landmarks. All postcards are designed and drawn by Matt Bergstrom. The postcards measure 4-5/8″ x 6-3/4″ and include all pieces and instructions necessary to make one model. The scale of the miniatures varies, depending on what size will fit on a postcard. The models are designed to be as accurate as possible and therefore can be challenging to assemble. If you are comfortable with a hobby knife, craft tools and a bit of patience, you will be able to build them.

All the cards are mailable over sized postcards with space on the reverse of the card for a stamp, address and a message. Each card also includes a short informative description of the landmark the model represents. Instructions are included in the form of isometric diagrams on the front of the cards.

A great gift for an architecture appreciator or anyone who loves NYC.

Liquid Glass Thinking Putty

A cooler version of the goop you grew up with, this translucent thinking putty outperforms juvenile paste with a consistency that’s springier, less sticky and more fun to knead. Roll this handful into a rubber ball (did we mention it bounces?), temporary sculpture or into a desktop game.

It’s easy to tear, fuse and bounce into shape. Bonus: It melts back into a tidy puddle when you’re done for easy storing.

Pocket Department Notebooks The Pocket Pack

If you have an office supply klepto on your list this year then they will become orgasmic over these delicious notebooks that look just like inter-office envelopes.

A collaboration with the Brooklyn Art Library, Pocket Deptartment is a line of sturdy notebooks inspired by vintage stationery and designed to fit every pocket: back pocket, shirt pocket, backpack, and messenger bag. These custom-tailored notebooks are ideal for capturing ideas, composing thoughts, making lists, or sketching on the go. Packaged in sets of three, these colorful books are as fashionable as they are indispensable. The Pocket Pack, containing one of each size, comes in a classic, interoffice style envelope with string-and-button closure.

A Sandstone Bust of Xzibit

3-D printing has brought new life to the design market thanks to its low cost and accessibility, and there is no better way to represent this new frontier than through the tangible evidence an actual “Yo Dawg” meme sitting on your desk.

Why, it’s almost as if your Internet life has become a reality.

Sweet!

Color Giving Tree Laptop Decal

Give your Mac the outward appearance of being a copy of Shel Silverstein’s beloved kid’s book The Giving Tree while at the same time showcasing your dominance in technology.

It will confuse people enough so they will leave you alone at Starbucks while you are busy writing My Little Pony fan fiction.

ComiXology eGift Cards

Give the gift of comics! Choose preset gift amounts from $10 to $500 or set your own gift value! ComiXology eGift Cards are redeemable to purchase books on comiXology.com and have no hidden fees or expiration dates. Books purchased on the comiXology store will automatically sync across mobile and tablet devices that have the comiXology Comics app.

Tiny Instagram Projector

Want to get even more heavily involved with your Instagram pictures? Why not make them into slides that can then be projected onto your walls (or pull-down screen) and forced upon your friends without their consent.

How does it work?

All you have to do is sign in with Instagram and pick nine of your favorite images, Projecteo will then develop them on to a single frame of 35mm slide film which is inserted into a small black wheel, and then your Projecteo and wheel of images will arrive together in the mail.

Sounds like an easy way of making people look at pictures of your food ONE MORE TIME.

Mini Bluetooth Keyboard with 5000mAh Power Bank

Seen with Apple iPhone 4S / 4 USB Cable

With a massive 5000MAh battery capacity and Bluetooth keyboard capabilities it allows you to charge all your device whilst typing on your device. But that’s not all, as the Mini Bluetooth Keyboard’s LED lights show how full the device’s battery is whilst charging, allowing you to see how much charge your device has without the need to access it. The small, useful keyboard offers Bluetooth connectivity for wireless typing as well as a built in battery that doesn’t take power from your device.

One awesome feature is that this keyboard has a range of dedicated multimedia controls to make watching movies and listening to music simple. Also being compatible with larger devices it is possible to control your laptop or PC from afar. The keyboard, although small (it can easily fit in your pocket,) offers a standard USB port.

An essential accessory and proof that we’re one step closer to having personal James Bond technology on us at all times.

Give it to your dad who likes to pretend he knows what he is doing when it comes to technology and watch hilarity ensue.

Spraypaint Crayons

Bring street art indoors with these large, vivid spraycan crayons. 4 inches high and 2 inches in diameter, these crayons are big, bold, and fun!

It’s a nice way to acknowledge a budding street artist who will probably be busted by cops in the coming year.

Turntable Kitchen Timer

Audiophiles will definitely appreciate finding this turntable kitchen timer in their stocking this year and will more than likely thank you via some homemade food and an evening spent listening to 70s funk albums.

Much better than getting a generic “Thanks” card in the mail.

Bite Me! Vampire Tooth Bottle Opener

If someone in your family refuses to let the Vampire fad die out, then throw one of these bottle openers in their stocking and hope that by next year they will have grown out of it. They’ll enjoy it and you can emotionally move on from having to shop at Hot Topic for all their freaking gifts.
