Happy 125th (?!) Birthday NINTENDO!

Today marks the 125th anniversary of Nintendo, which launched way back in 1889 by Fusajiro Yamauchi.  Gaming was part of the company’s identity from the beginning, producing handmade hanafuda playing cards.

Over the years, the company diversified and attempted to develop several other businesses such as  cab services, love hotels, vacuum cleaners and instant rice packets.  By the sixties Nintendo had turned their focus to toys and eventually, video games, launching their first successful franchise in 1982 with Donkey Kong.  Now considered to be one of the most iconic gaming companies, Nintendo is the third most valuable listed company in Japan and continues to find new fans with their beloved games and characters including The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Brothers, Kirby, Star Fox and Yoshi.

And what better way to celebrate the anniversary of the Nintendo legacy than through fashion?  Our friends at TV Store Online have several different costume hoodies that are perfect for everyday use or make an easy Halloween outfit.  Check them out after the jump!
